She provides strategic direction to the University and is responsible for developing and implementing long-term plans to reduce the University’s carbon emissions and improve its environmental sustainability.

Prior to joining the University of Cambridge in July 2012, Joanna was Senior Policy Adviser for Sustainable Development at the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) leading the development and implementation of HEFCE`s sustainable development strategy and carbon reduction strategy for higher education in England,

She was educated at the Universities of Nottingham and Southampton. She is a Chartered Environmentalist, a Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, and a Fellow of the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges (EAUC). Prior to joining HEFCE in 2005 she was Assistant Energy and Environmental Manager at the University of Bristol and served on the Executive of the EAUC.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
