NETpositive™ was first conceived in 2008 and represents the culmination of more than five decade’s worth of expertise and sustainability practice. Jimmy Branigan and Sheri-Leigh Miles have been finding new ways to make this transformational approach easy to use and maximise the impact it can have.
At the core of this idea was a determination to shake up the way people think about sustainability. Instead of just focusing on reducing harm to the environment, we believe in giving credit where it’s due by highlighting the good and constructive contributions that individuals, teams, and organisations create to make the world better.
Making sustainability more engaging: when we focus on the positive things people do, it makes sustainability more appealing. It’s not just about pointing out the detrimental consequences associated with our activities; it’s about celebrating the good stuff people are doing too. This approach resonates with individuals and organisations as it highlights their ability to make meaningful, constructive changes.
Measuring social and economic value: NETpositive can measure and recognise the social and economic value people and organisations bring to the table, not just the environmental impact they reduce. This means we’re looking at the bigger picture when it comes to sustainability.
So, in a nutshell, NETpositive flips the script on sustainability and challenges the conventional sustainability paradigm by championing a more holistic outlook.
